Lately…

So it’s a little amusing to me that I thought beginning a blog right around the same time as giving birth was a good idea.  Funny joke.

Braeson is five months. FIVE months.  He can sit up (sort of) roll over (only to his stomach, though…he seems to have forgotten how to go the other way), blow spit (and food) bubbles, and screech.  Man, can this child screech.  Tim’s threatening to buy earplugs or resort to cotton balls in his ears each time I put Braeson into his jumper, but the baby is SO happy there that what am I supposed to do?  Tell him to shush? That’d work well….

His current frustration is his inability to crawl or walk.  He wants nothing more than that little independence, but he can’t do it, and it leads to whining, crying, and screeching of the not-happy sort.  And while I look forward to him learning these skills, it’s killing me that he’s gotten so big and learned so much already.  He may be my only kid (esp if you ask Tim), and it’s flying by before I can even enjoy it!

I have to work 25 more days (well, 26 technically, but I’m not going on Friday because it’s Prince William’s wedding, and quite frankly, that’s more important) and then I get to spend the summer at home.  I remember a dark day several months ago when, in the midst of a screaming fit, I wondered how I’d survive the summer if it meant 9 more weeks at home without help.  Now, I can’t imagine ever feeling that way, and 9 weeks doesn’t seem like nearly enough.  Here’s to hoping for the lottery plan to pan out so I can stay home next year….
